In support of a government agency and under direction from a Department of government, your primary focus will be to provide expertise and ongoing support in technical writing, graphics development, and outreach activities to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences, including the public, with clarity, accuracy, and consistency. This includes cloud-based knowledge management system site development, technical library services, and the development of standardized practices for resource documentation development.
More About the Role:

As a Technical Writer/Editor you will:
  • Research, analyze, coordinate, and prepare for distribution of a variety of material/information that supports the mission, activities, and initiatives of the government.
  • Work with other organizational entities within the federal government on employee engagement activities.
  • Serve as a technical authority in grammar, style, and formatting and participate in workflow management.
  • Ensure all internal and external documents adhere to a standardized compliance guideline, such as 508 Compliance.
  • Plan, edit, design, and write content for a variety of internal communications media, such as a staff intranet, meeting presentations, regular newsletters, periodic email updates, and videos.
  • Write draft messages or scripts for senior executives to be used in presentations to government employees in written or spoken form.
  • Perform comprehensive editorial reviews and analyze work products to ensure that objective, style, and manner of presentation aligned with the overall goals and target audience of the government.
  • Work with the editorial advisory group to develop and write internal communications policies and procedures for senior-level approval.
  • Work with the editorial advisory group to support decision-making on internal communications.
  • Serve as the coordinator for FOIA and audit request.
  • Support the development and execution an internal and external communications plans and strategies
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English or a similar discipline
  • Minimum of two years experience
  • Experience writing and editing technical reports and technical documentation using word processing systems (Word), desktop publishing (Publisher), presentation systems (PowerPoint), Adobe Systems, and spreadsheet systems (Excel)
  • Must be able to obtain NACI (Public Trust) clearance/background investigation

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience using Style Guides
  • Experience creating highly visible communications collateral for U.S. Government entities is acceptable
  • Experience interacting with senior-level employees and preparing detailed, accurate reports and presentations for review by executive staff
  • A current security clearance

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$47,100-$96,500
