About the Opportunity: Sagent is a leading mortgage servicing, SaaS-based financial technology company dedicated to providing innovative solutions to homeowners and exceptional systems and experiences to our mortgage servicing clients. As part of our commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking an experienced and strategic professional to join our Finance team as the Senior Director of Procurement. The Senior Director of Procurement will be the leader responsible for developing and driving the Procurement vision with key colleagues in the Company. This position will be key in mitigating risk, using technology, improving processes and systems, and reducing the overall cost of ownership and acquisition. This high visibility role will report to our Chief Financial Officer.
Your day-to-day at Sagent:Strategic Procurement Leadership:- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the procurement function, aligning it with organizational goals and objectives.
- At the start, this role will be as an individual contributor with the opportunity to grow a team over time.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies that optimize costs, ensure quality, and mitigate risks.
- Develop and execute cohesive strategies, with focus on developing strategies for current and future needs, resiliency, emerging technologies, market trends, government regulations, and business environments
- Perform market research/analysis to determine availability of the requirement, analyze market trends, commercial practices, conditions and technological advances and determine the sources to be solicited
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions
- Provide strategic supply base management including supplier selection, negotiations, and supplier relationship/performance management
- Receive, assess, and evaluate vendor feedback to drive continuous improvement in vendor performance.
- Work effectively with multi-discipline teams to deliver complex projects
- Manage complex procurement initiatives and sourcing projects through the full procurement process including contract award and signature
- Apply operational and strategic management skills to optimize procurement processes, improve efficiency, and achieve cost savings.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Identify and manage risks associated with procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions, vendor non-compliance, and contract disputes.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the organization’s interests.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, vendor performance, and overall procurement effectiveness throughout the company
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance procurement capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with 10-15 years of experience in a procurement position OR completion of an advanced degree (master’s or higher) in relevant field plus 7 years of related experience in procurement related positions.
- Extensive experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain management, preferably within the financial services or technology sectors.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing the scoping of clinical vendor services for complex sponsor protocols and familiarity with vendor startup/operational activities during maintenance phase.
- Previous experience implementing new systems and technologies that drive operational excellence
