We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of DEI & Employee Experience to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Employee Experience, this role will be pivotal in shaping our organizational culture and performance, ensuring a workplace where every employee feels inspired, energized, and empowered. The Director of DEI & Employee Experience will revolutionize how Spring Health empowers team member performance and success while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, programs, and initiatives that foster a culture of belonging, drive positive employee engagement, and evolve our comprehensive DEI strategy to ensure alignment with our organization's values, goals, and business objectives.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead continued culture and employee experience evolution through execution of Spring Health’s engagement survey (Thriving Index) and design and deliver programs that address the cultural and organizational opportunities identified in our survey data.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive DEI strategy that embeds our DEI mission and programs throughout the organization.
  • Promoting the employee experience like the customer experience, use feedback from our team members to create a powerful employee experience strategy and impactful action planning to help our team members thrive.
  • Lead the charge to refresh Spring Health’s values into actionable operating principles, and create a powerful culture manifesto that clearly illustrates the evolution of Spring’s company culture.
  • Lead initiatives to create a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and serve as a thought partners to integrate DEI principles into all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Collaborate with the People Team and other departments to ensure equitable policies, practices, and opportunities for all employees.
  • Partner with talent acquisition and hiring managers to implement inclusive recruitment and retention practices that attract and retain diverse talent.
  • Conduct regular assessments and analysis of workforce demographics, employee engagement, and DEI metrics to identify areas for improvement and track progress over time.
  • Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and educational resources to promote awareness, understanding, and accountability around DEI topics.
  • Serve as a resource and trusted advisor to employees and leaders on DEI-related matters, providing guidance, support, and facilitating open dialogue.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of DEI initiatives and employee experience programs.
What success looks like in this role:
  • Thriving Index (engagement survey) scores averaging 75+
  • Increase Thriving Index scores across underrepresented groups
  • Reduce voluntary turnover rates, especially among underrepresented groups and top talent
  • Increase the representation of diverse groups across all levels of the organization
  • Ensure 100% participation in DEI training programs
  • Increase internal promotions and lateral moves, especially for underrepresented groups.
What we expect from you:
  • Minimum of 7 years in DEI, employee engagement, or related roles
  • 5+ years leading change management and communications in a hyper-growth environment.
  • Proven experience in innovating programs designed to empower team members and foster inclusion and belonging.
  • Track record of anticipating and solving problems, demonstrating the ability to "see around corners."
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DEI principles, practices, and legal requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to drive cultural change and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with employee engagement and satisfaction measurement tools and methodologies.
  • Outstanding ability to read the tone and sentiment of our culture and adapt accordingly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak and write concisely, commandingly, and inspiringly.
  • Passionate about creating inclusive and engaging workplace environments.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and innovative approach.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to integrity.

The target base salary range for this position is $149,000 - $198,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
