Contract Analyst
Job Description
The Contract Analyst is required to understand and apply knowledge of third party reimbursement including all commercial contracting, Medicare, Medicaid, state exchange, and all other third party payers. This position is responsible for understanding reimbursement schedules and all other aspects of provider and facility reimbursement (including inpatient, outpatient, professional, and all other for the facilities under the UVM Health Network). This position has key responsibilities for financial modeling and analytics of multiple reimbursement scenarios supporting the payer negotiations of the UVM Health Network Contracting Team. Financial modeling includes assessing the financial impact of various potential reimbursement changes and assisting in setting overall reimbursement methodologies. The Contract Analyst works to employ and manage contract modeling tools for managing fee for service, risk-based models, and other revenue streams for both commercial and government payers for the UVM Health Network
EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting, finance, management information systems, health policy, or related field. Advanced degree or significant related experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities were acquired may be considered.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 2 years of experience in health care reimbursement, billing, coding, finance or information systems preferred. The candidate must possess significant day-to-day familiarity with data analysis and data manipulation as well as expertise in financial modeling.
